A 19th Century Wooden Bowl, Cook Islands

19th Century, Cook Islands. Diameter 40cm Height 14cm. Probably Tamanu wood. This a lovely example of the ability of the carver to fashion from a single piece of wood, a fine ceremonial bowl featuring lug handles and four cylindrical feet.
