A finely carved encrusted bowl, Boiken people , Eatern Sepik Province , Papua New Guinea. Early 20th Century if not older. Carved from a single piece of hardwood featuring a wonderfully carved totem spirit's head possibly a Bird of Paradise. Visible secured cracked to bowl.
