Ex German collection then Loed and Mia van Bussel from Amsterdam, who pioneered collecting of New Guinea art and assembled one of the world’s top collections.
A wonderfully carved mask portraying an unusual grimace. A carved face featuring a body of a crocodile culminating in stylized Ramu head, stylised nose and a mouth with carved teeth.The bottom of the mask finishing with a perched bird on chin. Side holes for ceremonial attachments.
